Letter From Membership Vice President

Dear Potential New Sisters, 

My name is Myranda Payne. I’m the Membership Vice President of the Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta here at Marietta College. 

As the school year begins, recruitment approaches. The thought of going through recruitment can seem scary to some and may seem to be out of your comfort zone. However, I encourage every girl that is interested in the slightest bit, to give recruitment a shot. The recruitment process allows you to meet so many new girls and gain connections and friendships that could last a lifetime. I remember being in the shoes as a PNM before recruitment, and how nervous I was. Once I attended my first recruitment party, I felt so welcomed and relieved. I knew that I belonged in Alpha Xi Delta, and I was so excited to run home on Bid Day. You can find your home and lifelong friends that you will call sisters. 

Being in Alpha Xi Delta has offered me ways to grow into the best of version of myself, opportunities for leadership, and gave me some of my very best friends! Within a sorority, you will have sisters to support you. They will be there during your biggest accomplishments, and be there when you need a friend to talk to. I find comfort in knowing that I have sisters who are there for me and push me to be my best. Additionally, Greek Life allows you to gain leadership experiences by holding a director position, executive position, and being involved with campus life and the community. This is my second year holding the executive position as Membership Vice President. I have had the honor of talking to Potential New Members, attending Alpha Xi Delta’s comprehensive recruitment program called “The Workout,” setting up recruitment, and so many more amazing experiences and opportunities that I am forever grateful for. Each sorority offers many different leadership roles to obtain. Every girl has the chance to take on a leadership role in Greek Life. 

If the thought of being in a sorority crosses your mind, I encourage you to go through recruitment. Recruitment is such an exciting process for both Potential New Members and active members. So many conversations are made, friendships are formed, and bonds are created. Being apart of Alpha Xi Delta is an experience I will forever cherish. Find your home and go Greek!
